Lieutenant Colonel O'Donnell is a twenty-two (22) year veteran of the Rhode Island State Police. Lieutenant Colonel O'Donnell holds a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of New Haven, a Master's Degree in Administration of Justice from Salve Regina University, and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. Lieutenant Colonel O'Donnell is the Deputy Superintendent/Chief of Field Operations, second-in-command of the Division of State Police overseeing the Patrol and Detective Bureaus, the Intelligence Unit, and Executive Security Unit. Lieutenant Colonel O'Donnell is very involved in coaching youth lacrosse.

Lieutenant Colonel White is a twenty-two (22) year veteran of the Rhode Island State Police, is the Chief Administrative Officer as designated by Colonel Brendan P. Doherty, Commissioner of the Department of Public Safety and Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police. Lieutenant Colonel White possesses a Bachelor of Science degree in the Administration of Justice from Roger Williams University and a Master of Science degree in the Administration of Justice from Salve Regina University. Lieutenant Colonel White is also a graduate of the Bryant College Center for Management Development for Police Leadership Development and Leadership Rhode Island.

The Chief Administrative Officer is responsible for the personnel and fiscal management of the Division and is ultimately accountable for the Rhode Island Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (RILETS) and the state's connection to the National Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (NLETS). Responsibilities also include overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Division's administrative units. The Lieutenant Colonel also acts as the liaison with the Rhode Island Troopers' Association and civilian unions pertaining to issues and concerns of sworn and civilian personnel.

Lieutenant Colonel White serves on various committees and projects such as representing Rhode Island at the national SEARCH conference and representing the Division on the Rhode Island Supreme Court E-Filing Task Force.

Major Johnson is a twenty-two (22) year veteran of the Rhode Island State Police and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in the Administration of Justice from Roger Williams University. During his career, Major Johnson has served with the Division's Patrol and Detective Bureaus, SWAT Team, Marine Unit, and Peer Support Team. Major Johnson is currently in charge of the Professional Standards Unit, where he has been assigned since 2003, and as such is responsible for the investigation of all complaints and allegations made against sworn and civilian members of the Division of State Police. The Professional Standards Unit strives to ensure that the integrity of the Division remains intact, and that its standards are upheld. Major Bannon is a twenty-two (22) year veteran of the Rhode Island State Police. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from the University of Rhode Island and a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Roger Williams University. Major Bannon is graduate of the Roger Williams University School of Law and the FBI National Academy. Major Bannon is assigned as the Liaison to the Rhode Island Department of Public Safety. Major Bannon has been assigned to all barracks locations, the Detective Bureau, Accreditation Unit, and Inspectional Services.

Captain Swanberg is a twenty-two (22) year veteran of the Rhode Island State Police and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Administration of Justice from Roger Williams University along with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Anthropology from Rhode Island College. Captain Swanberg is a former First Lieutenant with the United States Marine Corps and also a graduate of Leadership Rhode Island.

Captain Rose is a twenty-two (22) year veteran of the Rhode Island State Police. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Roger Williams University and a Master’s Degree from Anna Maria College. Captain Rose is also a graduate of Leadership Rhode Island. Captain Rose is currently assigned to Inspectional Services where he is responsible to evaluate the administration and operation of the Division. Captain Rose also conducts periodic inspections of facilities, vehicles, equipment, records, personnel and investigative procedures. Captain Rose also ensures that Division policies and procedures comply with national accreditation requirements.

Captain Marandola is a twenty-three (23) year veteran and is the District “A” Commander. He has served as the Patrol Commander of the Chepachet, Portsmouth and Wickford Barracks and also served as a Lieutenant in the Detective Division. Captain Marandola is responsible for overseeing the northern operations of the Lincoln Woods Barracks, Scituate Barracks, Commercial Enforcement Unit, Night Executive Officers, T.F. Green Airport Office and the Division’s Collision Reconstruction Unit. Additional responsibilities include supervising the Division Lieutenant serving as the Liaison for the Rhode Island Airport Corporation Police Department.

Captain Neill is a twenty-two (22) year veteran of the Rhode Island State Police and is the Detective Commander as designated by Colonel Brendan P. Doherty, Commissioner of the Department of Public Safety and Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police. Captain Neill possesses a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Rhode Island and an Associates degree in Criminal Justice from Roger Williams University. Captain Neill has served as a Patrol Commander in the Division's Uniform Bureau and has specialized in pro-active investigations within the Division's Detective Bureau.

The Detective Commander is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Division's Detective Bureau, which is comprised of the Area Detective, Auto Theft/Insurance Fraud, Narcotics, Financial Crimes, Intelligence, Major Crimes and Criminal Identification Units, the Property Control Officer, Violent Fugitive Task Force and Judiciary Warrant Squad, Detectives on special assignment and Confidential Transcribers.

The Detective Commander serves as the Detective Bureau's liaison to the Attorney General's Office, United States Attorney's Office, Federal and local law enforcement agencies and the media. The Detective Commander also serves on the Witness Protection Board.
